Domestic airport Was Originally Named After NTR - Arun Jaitley

The row over renaming Shamshabad domestic terminal after Legendary NTR name finally came to end. The Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said in Parliment today that there won't be any change in the name of Domestic terminal of Hyderabad Airport. Arun Jaitley said  that the domestic airport will continue in the name of late NT Rama Rao and the union government will  never steps back from it.

Congress and TRS leaders on Wednesday disrupted the functioning of the Rajya Sabha over the issue .Congress MPs demanded the government to take back the G.O. passed to rename the airport name.

Responding to them Minister reiterated that NTR name will continue for the domestic terminal of Hyderabad Airport and International Terminal will have Rajiv Gandhi name. Jaitley added that the domestic airport was originally named after NTR and that continues to be so.He also requested leaders not to create controversies on name of great leaders like NTR & Rajiv.

“Both NT Rama Rao and Rajiv Gandhi are respectable leaders. Nobody in government wants to show any disrespect to Rajiv Gandhi .The international airport is originally in the name of Rajiv Gandhi and that continues to be so. The domestic airport was in the name of NTR and that continues to be so.there is nothing to speak on the issue and kindly do not make controversies on this issue’’Said Jaitley

As the explanation came from none other than union minister Arun Jailtey it was quite obvious that NTR name will be final for the domestic airport.
